Once the form is submitted, your notes will automatically be added to the applicant's Asana task for future reference
Giving a good first impression is important! Greeting the candidate at the door by name is a good first step. We want quality applicants to be as equaly interested in joining our team as we are about them joining the team!
Get to know the applicant a bit and see if they seem like a good fit for Mathnasium
These questions are a good opportunity to help the applicant feel more comfortable through the interview
Go through the three scenario questions and ask the applicant how they would go about teaching them
It's important to look to see how well applicants are implementing mental math strategies and not just getting the questions right
If an applicant is struggling to find a good answer, feel free to lead them to it. See how quickly they pick up on the concepts and if the adapt them in a follow up question
While it's great if an applicant already has experience related to working with kids, it's not a make-or-break when it comes to making a hiring decision
Check for empathy and that the applicant has the patience to work with students
Review the applicant's availability in their Applicant tracker in Asana, then verify with the applicant
Make sure the applicant understands that we are looking for a minimum 9-month employment (unless under special circumstances)
After reviewing availability, answer any questions they may have for you
Thank the applicant for spending the time to meet with you
Give them an estimate on how long it will take before they will get a decision from you (about a week)
IMPORTANT: If you are interested in hiring a candidate post interview, do not hesistate to offer them the job in person! We do not want quality candidates finding positions elsewhere while we wait to make a decision! However, make sure they understand the decision is still pending Math Literacy Test and background check.
