Dr. Ting Han was born in 1996 and raised in a small town in the scenic Jiangnan region of China, near the Yangtze River—an area renowned for its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. He earned his B.S. degree in Applied Chemistry from Anhui Normal University in 2019, where he conducted undergraduate research in chemical/biosensors and electrocatalysis under the guidance of Dr. Xiaojun Zhang and Dr. Guangfeng Wang.
In the same year, Dr. Han began his graduate studies at the University of North Texas, working under the supervision of Dr. Hong Wang. His doctoral research focused on the design and synthesis of β-functionalized benzoporphyrins, as well as the development of advanced porous materials for applications in catalysis and photochemistry.
After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Han joined Texas Woman’s University as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He currently leads the Han Research Group, where his research focuses on porphyrin-based functional materials, photo- and electrocatalysis, and mechanochemistry-driven green synthesis. His interdisciplinary approach bridges organic chemistry, materials science, and sustainable technologies to address emerging challenges in energy, environment, and bioapplications.
