Expanding Students' Horizons: Guosheng Elementary School Launches First Overseas Study Tour to the Philippines
Guosheng Elementary School in Changhua City’s East District held its first two-week Overseas Study Tour in the Philippines last summer, promoting health and global awareness. The program gave students valuable cultural learning experiences beyond the classroom and marked a significant milestone for the school.
Most participants were fifth graders, and the itinerary was organized by First Choice Language School. Through one-on-one and small group classes, students improved their English listening and speaking in an engaging environment. In their free time, they experienced local life in Cebu and enjoyed a rich multicultural immersion.
Students visited a local orphanage, where they shared gifts, sang, and danced with the children, building meaningful cross-cultural friendships. They also visited Cebu University Elementary School and Sacred Heart High School Elementary School, where they were warmly welcomed and exchanged learning experiences while appreciating different educational environments.
Beyond learning and service, the study tour also included city tours and leisure activities. Students visited popular attractions, enjoyed shopping, and experienced activities like ice skating and island hopping—embracing local culture while learning through play.
