Here are some of our school's events and celebrations! My co-teacher and I took some time to prepare and to make each celebration happen. We believe that opportunities like these boost students' confidence in using the English language and promote enhancement in learning it.

Make someone happy and feel loved!

Although it is not a prominent event around Taiwan, we still introduced the concept of Valentine's Day to students in the world. We have emphasized that there is a lot of form of love. Students had a fun time looking for the missing pieces of heart around the school and posted them to give colors to a big broken heart. Students have been given points on their reward card. Once students found the heart, they needed to complete the sentence written on it.

Children, let's look for my missing eggs!

This year Children's Day is combined with Easter Celebration. Students played fun, interactive, and fused-with-learning games. These games were egg hunting, crossword puzzle, ball shooting, picture-word matching, and even coloring activities. Our school also organized a separate program where lucky students might win awesome gifts in a raffle draw. As the end part of our celebration, we had a role-play with students for Easter celebration.

The spirit of Christmas is just around Shan-Si!

My co-teacher Lisa loves the idea of role-play and we've seen this as the perfect time to let the students showcase their talents in acting; another way to boost students' confidence in using the English language. The script was composed by my co-teacher Lisa and I personally gave my insights on how to execute it. Two heads are better than one, they say! This works well all the time! We also had a simple game and some photo-ops as students were in a box as the gifts this Christmas.

Spooky day it is!

This year's Halloween, I dressed up as a friendly tiger and roamed around the school to share treats to students. Teacher Lisa and I had some vocabulary activities for students to learn. Students made their ideal monsters by using the materials we provided for them. They had to label the parts of the body of the monster and give him a name.

New Year! Rejoice!

Art sessions with students never missed. This is a great way to enhance the listening skills of students when they're given instructions through art crafting. They absolutely love colors and art papers so they made a dragon made from colored papers and sticks and wrote their messages for New Year!

This is one of our many short role-playing activities in school. This is presented on the Talent Show Day. This kind of activities took some time to practice but we made sure that we could find time to rehearse so students might feel a little pressure and be prepared.

Rewards for a job well done!

For every task accomplished, students will gain stickers and once they have collected a total of 30, they will be rewarded. This is our way of motivating the students to participate in class.
