For our 2025 Halloween, the school nurse and us had a collaboration activity. Our school nurse put a healthy twist on the classic trick-or-treat tradition! Instead of heading straight for the candy, students laced up their running shoes and kicked things off with a fun, energizing run around the track. The goal was simple — get moving first, then enjoy the treats after.
After completing their run, me and my LET, we taught and guided the students what to say if they are asking for treats and that is to say "Trick or Treat" and "Happy Halloween". Students were rewarded — not with candy — but with customized keychains specially prepared just for them. These fun keepsakes made the event both memorable and meaningful, giving everyone a treat they could enjoy long after the day ended.
The activity encouraged students to stay active, build healthy habits, and have fun with friends, all while celebrating the Halloween spirit.
