Hola! Mabuhay everyone!
Hola! Mabuhay everyone!
I’m Izielle Aborde, but I preferred to be called as "Cela" or Teacher Cela. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Elementary Education and a Licensed Professional Teacher from the Philippines.
I started my English teaching journey as an online ESL teacher of diverse students, where I learned that teaching is not only about lessons, but also about encouragement and understanding. As I want to hone my experience in teaching, my determination led me here in Taiwan.
My goal is to help students overcome their fear of speaking English and believe in their abilities. I am motivated to keep learning, improving, and inspiring others—slowly but surely.
I believe that the best learning happens when the student is at the center of the lesson. My approach is simple: I adapt my teaching to fit my students' unique goals, interests, and learning style. By combining my experience in digital engagement with a focus on real-world communication, I create a relaxed environment where my students can take their time to find their voice. However, I also believe that a student can't learn if they don't have a will to learn. This is why I implement a mix of traditional and game-based activities so students can have fun while learning to keep them motivated.
In my classroom, there is no pressure to be perfect. I make sure every student has the space to speak, participate, and figure things out at their own speed. I believe that learning a new language shouldn't be a race; it is a self-paced journey, and it is perfectly okay to take it slow. To me, a successful class is one where my students feel comfortable and supported and leave feeling more confident than when they started.
I began my teaching career online during the pandemic while completing my university degree. To focus on my professional teaching internship, I briefly stepped away to gain hands-on classroom experience. After graduating, I returned to the digital classroom, with a degree in hand and a renewed passion for education.
Interacting with such a diverse group of people made me deeply aware of cultural differences and taught me how to adapt my style to fit any student.
After exploring the world of online teaching, I tried my luck to experience the actual classroom teaching. And the fate is with me, my very first ever classroom teaching experience brought me at Yonghe Elementary School in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Teaching in this big school helped me a lot from what to expect and how to adjust as a foreign teacher inside the classroom and in this country.
In August 2025, I began a new chapter of my career at Shetou Elementary School in Shetou Township, Changhua County. Being placed here has been a true blessing. From my very first day, the school community welcomed me with open arms, providing a supportive environment where I can truly thrive as an educator. This school has been a wonderful place for me to grow, offering me new experiences and opportunities I hadn't tried before.
I am so grateful for the supportive community here. Step by step, we continue to learn, adjust, and adapt together to find what works best for our students. It’s a journey of mutual growth, and I’m dedicated to bringing my energy and experience to this school every single day.
