With the school's support, more bilingual initiatives are being done this school year.

Get to know our graduating students from class 6A through our speaking activity.
Motivation plays a vital role in encouraging students to learn English. English teachers in Huanan have decided to recognize the efforts of the students. How are the superstars chosen? The kid who has improved well in each class will be the superstar. It's not always the smart ones.
Holiday hall presentations are conducted mostly every last Tuesday of the month or before the holiday takes place. This is to let students learn about the upcoming holidays. Aside from holidays, cultural exchange topics are also presented. Interaction among students is evident to see whether they understand the presentation.
New sentences are being presented to students and teachers each week to promote English speaking around the school. There's a tally board just right in front of the English classroom to see which students and teachers participated in the said activity. In the past week, students were eager to read and tell the sentences just by looking at the tally board.
English Reading Class
In addition to the regular English classes, there is an English reading class held each week. The teacher is going through the ICRT News to make sure students have a thorough understanding of what's playing during lunch. Moreover, this time is also used for storytelling, story reading, and phonics. It is to expose students to topics outside their textbooks.
Morning English Time
The foreign English teacher is the one going into the classrooms this time. While others are busy with their clubs, the ones who stay in class have time for English. The activities done here are everything under the umbrella of the English language. This is to expose and prepare lower grades to the existence of English in school.
Personalized learning for every aspiring mind.
We certainly don't like boring stuff! The bulletin board is made so students who pass by can sort and arrange the CVC words they've learned. The other end of the fries has photos to strengthen their vocabulary.
The attention span of students nowadays is short that's why we should think of creative ways to teach in our class. Different game-based instructions are some of the ways we do in our school. Doing these won't just get their attention but assess their language skills as well.
Holidays are interesting topics that we may teach our students. In our school, we teach our students some vocabulary words and trivia about each holiday. Also, we do some activities and games to make it memorable.
GIMKIT made our class evaluation fun and exciting! Instead of giving the students paper and pencil quizzes, why not make it fun? All you have to do is prepare the questions and voila! You can assess your students while they play the game. Each correct answer would serve as the students' energy to play the game. You can change the type of game as well without preparing another set of questions.

The WOW (Word Of the Week) activity is held every Tuesday. The vocabulary words from the ICRT news played during lunchtime are being discussed with the students.
Halloween Station games: Trick or treat? Or let us say, games and treats?
There are four different station games that the students can play. Each one of them has a stamp card. They need to roam around the hall and play three games in order to claim their treats. The games played were to remember, review, and use the words that are connected to Halloween.
The games are as follows:
1. The Lucky draw. Who's the lucky one? Students will get a ball from the box. The lucky one who picked the red ball with the "Happy Halloween" note will get a stamp.
2. Tic-tac-hop. Listen and hop on the picture are the rules of this game. Students have to hop on the picture correctly three times to get a stamp.
3. Finger guessing game. This is a local Taiwanese-inspired game with a twist. The students have to do the actions (of a witch, ghost, and mummy). The first player would act, and the other player has to do a different action. If the other player did the same action as the first player, s/he loses the game. Best of three to win the game.
4. Shoot and Say. Students have to throw the sticky ball and identify the picture where the ball landed. This is to review the new Halloween vocabulary words they've learned.
