Programme for Active Learning (PAL)

All P1 pupils will undergo Programme for Active Learning (PAL) during curriculum time. It gives our pupils the opportunities to discover new interests, learn new skills and build their characters. It also helps them to develop their self-confidence and forge new friendships with their peers. PAL is also a platform where pupils learn to find ways to solve problems and how to make good decisions to solve them. In PAL, pupils are exposed to varied and fun-learning experiences in four domains: Outdoor Education, Sports and Games, Performing Arts and Visual Arts.

Applied Learning Programme - Media Whiz Kids

The 'Media Whiz Kids' (MWK) programme is our school's unique Applied Learning Programme. It involves preparing Teck Whyeans to understand and apply knowledge and skills acquired in Languages, Aesthetics, and Info-comm Technology (ICT) to authentic and meaningful contexts.

Language lessons in school help students learn about media concepts and media literacy skills, so they become critical media consumers. When they see or hear a piece of media, they will be able to think critically about the larger picture, consider the purpose and points of views of the author, and finally, evaluate it and make their own decisions accordingly. Through this process, students also grow to become creative media producers. Each year, they get opportunities to create their own media productions. These productions take various forms, such as speech and drama, e-Journalism, and videography.

This "Thank you" A Covid-19 poem is written and performed by our students in Special Interest Group under our Applied Learning Programme.

Learning for Life Programme - I Lead, I Serve

Teck Whye Primary School’s Learning for Life Programme, based on Kouzes and Posner’s Leadership Model, aims to develop leadership in all students so that they can be confident individuals.

As part of student leadership development, a broad range of experiences will be provided for all students. This is to encourage an understanding of leadership through the total curriculum and varied activities, especially those that involve contribution and service to others. Students will not only be able to develop their individual capacity to lead but will also be taught how to collaborate and influence others in a responsible manner.

With the heart to serve other, students will become true leaders who will contribute and serve those around them.
