Native American Poster "Gallery Peer Feedback" Day:
After researching and creating an individual poster of what we learned, our peers got an opportunity to read each others and offer positive feedback about our project. It was so sweet to see students be caring, kind, and constructive with their feedback for each other.
ROAR Students NOVEMBER, DECEMBER & January:
Meet the Pioneer 4th grade ROAR nominated students from our class. These students work hard to demonstate, model, and set examples for others about our school behavior and kindness expectations. Way to go: Cianna, Jonnie, Mariana, Aamilah, and Qudratullah.
January was 4th graders: Victoriah, Aamilah, Hunter, and Kolsoom.
Henna Party:
We had an incredible opportunity to invite some of our mothers and fathers to recreate a "Henna" themed celebration after reading the book Maryha Kahn and the Incredible Henna Party. It was so fun to learn about Henna, food, and art from Pakistan. The students felt so proud teaching about their culture and we are truly honored to be able to not only learn about Pakistan but get to experience some of the culture first-hand!
Native American Tribes Poster Presentations:
After weeks of researching, planning, drafting and publishing a poster demonstrating their knowledge of tribes that lived in either the CA Desert or the CA Pacific Coast, they did a class oral presentation to the rest of the class informing us of what they learned.
Drama Club Performance:
Some of our classmates participated in the T/Th afterschool DRAMA CLUB with Ms. Webber and Mr. Ruby. After weeks of practicing short plays, they performed a final performance for the families in January. It was absolutely wonderful to see our students thrive and be so successful on passions outside of the classroom.
Black History Month Artist Study:
We learned about a famous African-American Artist who pioneered the love of art for inner city youth back in the 1960-70's after becoming the first African-American to graduate from her college and become an educator of inner city youth.
Celebrating Trimester 1 Accelerated Reader Winners w/ Door Dashed Lunch:
We are so excited to celebrate that these students have earned a Door Dash lunch with the teacher for earning the most AR reading Quiz points during the months of Trimester 1.

RED RIBBON WEEK SPIRIT WEEK:
We celebrated with lots of fun ways to dress up and show our ROAR spirit during Red Ribbon Week 2025. Pajama day, Twin day, Pink day, Grade level "color" day, and Roar spirit were the days this week and take a look at some of the pictures.

Hispanic Heritage Month: This month we will be learning about different famous Hispanic Americans. This first project was an animal still portrait with levitating hats. This theme is inspired by the Hispanic Mexican American Graffiti artist David Maldonado based out of Texas. Check him out if you have time. He is so talented. Here is a link to explore more about him and his art creations.

SATURDAY SCHOOL: This was our first Saturday School at Pioneer School. We offer absence recovery if your student attends the monthly Saturday School event. We tie-dyed sunflowers and used the art to make the school office windows more cheery.
ME MUSEUM: This was our first homework/family project. We brought three special items from home that others could get to know us a little bit better by seeing and reading the card about it. We really enjoyed this.
