English 9 Honors is an advanced integrated curriculum of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and standard English language skills based on the California ELA Common Core State Standards and the California ELA/ELD Framework. English 9 Honors is intended to support and advance those students who possess the skills and desire for a more rigorous and challenging curriculum. It is also designed to prepare students for future enrollment in the Advanced Placement courses at the 11th and 12th grade levels. This is a rigorous course that will require substantial amounts of reading, writing, critical thinking, speaking, and homework, in addition to the standards-based instruction of the regular English 9 course.
