Parent Jobs and Support:

Class Care Coordinator - I would love to have someone to take on this volunteer role. This person would help our class community to come together to support families that might need a little help because of good challenges or bad. For instance, if we have an expectant family in our class, you might help to organize some way to celebrate them. If we have a family that has fallen on hard times, you would reach out to see if there was any way we could support them as a class community. In addition, you help the children, to remember the teacher’s birthdays. It would be great if a returning family could take this on. Please let me know if you can be our Kindly Class Care Coordinator.

Preparing for the new school year - Does anyone have any helpful hints for moving back into a school day rhythm?

Rhythm and Routine - School and Home

School: Preparing a Space (the 5 senses) - When we are preparing the school space, we consider the five senses. We work to create an environment that has space for movement, for resting (hearing a story), all while considering how the space will look, sound, smell, and feel like for all school activities, including freeplay, painting, beeswax ,and drawing. Rhythm & routines are the backbone of our kindergarten years and beyond.

Considerations for the start of the year:

Sleep

Food

Media

*There is an excellent article about how a steady rhythm and routine will support you as a family as well as your child now and in the future, under Parent Ed. I highly recommend it!
