Meet the Catamount's Teacher

I am so pleased that my life's journey landed me at Twinfield. I have found all the staff and administration to be so kind and supportive. There is a wonderful team spirit among all who work at Twinfield which makes it a very special place. Parents to are warm and welcoming.

I started life on the West Coast-Los Angeles to be exact. I went to high school in the Denver, Colorado suburbs. I came east for college and received a BA in History from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. I later went back to Denver where I lived for many years. I received a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver.

I have taught school for many years. I really love to teach all subjects though my passions are history and reading. I work hard to help students find their interests and learn about the world, and themselves. I also work hard to create a community of learners in my classroom where students feel safe, respected, and cared for.

In 2012 my husband and I looked at each other and simultaneously said, "Let's move to Vermont." By 2013 we had sold our home, trimmed down our possessions and filled a 24 foot rented van and our two cars and headed east. It has been quite an adventure exploring our new state. We love it here and have settled down in Barre. Being a history buff, I had always dreamed of living in an old home and feeling it's stories around me. Now I am living in a beautiful Victorian with plenty of stories inside and room outside for my garden.

I have 3 grown children. I always told them to follow their dreams and they have. My son, Robinson, and daughter-in-law live in Denver where they each do work they love trying to make the world a better place. He works on political campaigns while she works in advocacy for the disabled. My daughter Elizabeth, is currently a film editor in Los Angeles. But in 2018 she and her husband are moving to Rome, Italy where his parents and sibling are. Liz is working hard on her Italian and planning quite the adventure of her own. My daughter Kaitlin is working in the corporate world in New York City and is about to get married, about to chose from Law schools that have accepted her, and then about to move to where ever she goes to Law School. I did not realize how far away my children would fly when they followed their dreams.

I am thankful for the chance to work with your children and help them too to follow their dreams. As we say at Twinfield this year: Make your dream a plan!
