Assessment and Accountability

Assessment

The Assessment Department provides support to schools for the implementation of state mandated assessments. Since assessment is an integral part of learning and plays a key role in informing instruction, our department works directly with the Teaching and Learning Department as well as other system level departments. This department supports schools and Central Office personnel with training, data analysis, assessment use and assessment strategies. Our goal is to assist the Twiggs County schools with continuous improvement of student achievement.

Accountability

The Accountability Department serves as the system and school liaison with the Governor's Office of Student Achievement and the Georgia Department of Education to provide support for all areas of accountability. This department reports on federal and state accountability initiatives. This department assists and supports the district's schools to meet/exceed standards and interpret the College Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) at federal, state and local levels. We assist in formulation, establishment, and implementation of system accountability plans, school benchmarks, and district scorecard to close achievement gaps between and among all student subgroups. We also assist with the coordination of data teams and surveys to assist our schools and district with data-driven decision-making to promote student achievement.
