Statement for Mr. Joseph Gilleland (English 9 Teacher) -
"It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Taylor this year, as she has brought her passion and creativity to the team. What really stands out about Taylor's abilities as a teacher is how she manages to connect and engage students in her classroom while simultaneously implementing a rigorous curriculum. She has established herself as an integral part of every team she is a part of by both listening and integrating other people's ideas into her own practice while speaking up and not being afraid to share her countless creative ideas. Taylor manages to create lessons that are engaging and fun but also essential to helping her students master the content. Her tireless dedication to communicating with families and helping students revise work has absolutely created a positive environment in her classroom that students look forward to walking into every single day. I'm so proud of all the work she has done this year, and I know she will continue to do amazing things at our school!"
Statement from Mrs. Catherine Thiveos (English 9 Teacher) -
"Mrs. Taylor Ciulla represents the epitome of what a teacher should look like- professional, hard-working, and above all, fair and kind to all of her students.
Arriving every day hungry to inspire and motivate, Mrs. Ciulla has a gift of connecting and building relationships with each one of her students, and it shows. With her low failure rates and a strong number of students mastering the content, Ciulla has the ability to quickly and accurately determine the needs of all of her students (even modifying and adjusting within the same class period) to help them succeed. This is one of her many strengths as an educator. Another obvious strength of Ciulla’s is her confidence in the English curriculum. As a newer educator, this is hard to come by with so much on one’s plate, yet Ciulla juggles all tasks thrown at her with aplomb, using her strong pillars of knowledge in the English language as a compass to guide her. I have had the pleasure of working with Taylor over the last year and feel honored to have her as both a colleague and friend within our English 9 team and have enjoyed seeing her thrive and blossom during her first year with us here at CHS."
