Here at Twin Valley High School, we have many different activities and clubs that students can join or participate in. Please see below for the opportunities for TVHS Students.

AV Club
Purpose:
We create a space for students interested in film and making movies and animation and music videos and all content visual. AV club gives students experience and resources to help them to create visual media for the school and the community and themselves.
Meetings & Activities:
AV Club meets once per week before school, during flex, after school, and sometimes during the evenings and on weekends. They have meetings, plan trips, video performances and events, and participate in contests.

Academic Challenge
Purpose:
To learn and compete in matches versus other Berks County Schools.
Meetings & Activities:
Academic Challenge meets once per month after school to practice and compete.

Art Club
Purpose:
Giving kids an extra outlet to create art and hang around with like minded peers. This club is run by student officers with the teachers guidance.
Meetings & Activities:
Art Club is available for students to come every Wednesday after school, but there is a mandatory meeting for all art club members once a month (the first Wednesday of the month). Art Club meets weekly but also has a trip once a year.

The Awakening
Purpose:
The purpose of this club is to unite fellow believers and enjoy a time of fellowship, fun, and a short teaching. The group is formed by students from all different youth groups in the local community, so we take the time to go through the different events happening in our area throughout the year.

The Awakening meets once per week.

Band
Purpose:
Jazz Ensemble is made up of a select group of students who perform music in the style and tradition of American “Big Bands.” Through the Jazz experience students can partake in yet another facet of instrumental music performance that explores the style and history of Jazz music. The Jazz Ensemble performs at local jazz festivals and various community events throughout the spring semester.
Meetings & Activities:
Band groups meet multiple times per week after school and in the evenings. They have practices, go on trips, do fundraisers, performances, compete and do other events.

Book Club
Purpose:
To promote the enjoyment of reading and reading fluency, to improve the school community for students
Meetings & Activities:
Book Club meets once per month after school and sometimes during Flex Friday. They have meetings and do trips and have also hung positive messages around the school.

Chess Club
Purpose:
To offer Gifted as well as other interested students an opportunity to play chess together after school. We also offer time during the school day during flex to discuss chess strategies. We are working towards offering other strategy based games during this time.
Meetings & Activities:
Chess Club meets once per week. They meet Thursday's after school in the Library until 3:30pm.

Chorus
Purpose:
In the Twin Valley Choral Program, our mission is to cultivate a safe and supportive community while fostering personal growth, enhancing musicality, and sharing our love for music.
Concert Choir is for any student in Twin Valley High School that wants to sing in a group setting. Singers of all skill levels are welcome and wanted here. We will teach you everything you need to know to be successful. Please join us!
Select Chorus is Twin Valley's premier choral ensemble that performs at events throughout the community and surrounding areas. This is an auditioned ensemble. Students must be enrolled in Concert Choir to audition.
Twin Valley Treble Tones is a treble choir that meets during the second semester and performs in the Spring Pops Concert. We perform a variety of music which includes collegiate a cappella music. Twin Valley Treble Tones is for any student at TVHS that is interested in singing music that is written in the soprano and alto ranges. All singing skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join.
TVHS Drop the Bass is a bass choir that meets during the second semester and performs in the Spring Pops Concert. We perform a variety of music which includes barbershop and collegiate a cappella music. Our alumni song is a beautiful arrangement of the song, "Danny Boy" by Jamey Ray. TVHS Drop the Bass is for any student at TVHS that is interested in singing music that is written in the tenor and bass ranges. All singing skill levels are welcome and encouraged to join. Color Guard
Debate Club
Purpose:
To teach students the skills needed to be an effective debater and public speaker.

The Debate Club meets once per week, before and after school.

Design Club
Purpose:
Design Club creates designs for Twin Valley events. Design club provides students after school time to work on their designs.
Meetings & Activities:
The Design Club meets once per month with leadership and once per week for students in the club. They work on visual communications.

Drumline
E-Sports
Purpose:
E-Sports is a way for students interested in competitive video gaming to work collaboratively with teammates, participate in leadership opportunities, and to compete with other schools throughout Pennsylvania.
E-Sports is a growing field. Some colleges offer E-Sports scholarships, much like scholarships for athletes in other sports. Twin Valley's current E-Sports teams are for Rocket League, Overwatch 2, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. However, with enough interest, other teams can also be created.

FFA
Purpose:
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
Meetings & Activities:
FFA meets multiple times per week, before and after school and sometimes on weekends. They have meetings, trips, fundraisers, competitions, events and leadership conferences.

French Honors Society
Purpose:
To honor and recognize students who earned an A or higher in French 2-AP and who have taken French until their senior year.
We enjoy teaching others about the Francophone world. Each year, we try going out together as a group to a French restaurant.
Meetings & Activities:
French Honors Society meets once per month to plan trips and learn more about the French culture.

German Klub/German Honors Society
Purpose:
The goals of Twin Valley German Klub are to provide an opportunity for members to promote an appreciation for German culture, language and lifestyles, to converse and improve their German, and to participate in culturally enriching activities ranging from music to theater, to foods and politics.
Membership is open to all students in grades 9-12. Students are not required to speak German or take German classes to become members.

The German Klub meets once per month after school. They have meetings, trips, fundraisers and other events.

History Club
Purpose:
Provide extracurricular opportunities to students interested in historical study and preservation.

History Club meets once per month. They sometimes meet before school, after school, evenings or weekends. In addition to their meetings, they plan trips.

HOSA
(Future Health Professionals)
Purpose:
Mentor students that will be working in the medical field upon graduating from high school.
Meetings & Activities:
HOSA meets once a week after school. Exploring medical careers. Attending State Leadership Conference and challenging ourselves academically at the conference. Manning four blood drives each school year. Hosting medical speakers who come in to our meetings and review their occupations, trainings, and scope of practices. Collaboration with other Twin Valley schools and educational presentations by HOSA students to children at these schools. Trips to medical facilities for educational programs.

Leo Club
Purpose:
To provide leadership opportunities for students, engage in service for both school and living community
Meetings & Activities:
Leo Club meets once per month, but has events multiple times per week and sometimes on weekends. They also meet on Flex Fridays and in small committee meetings during the day some weeks. They participate in meetings, trips, fundraisers and other events.

LINK
Purpose:
To bring students together from all backgrounds and foster leadership skills in young adults
Meetings & Activities:
LINK meetings depend on the time of year and the week. They meet multiple times per week, before and after school, evenings and on weekends. They also go to a retreat twice a year but train the lesders every week for 4 weeks prior to the trip. They also plan a variety of trips, fundraisers and events throughout the year.

Marching Band
Purpose:
The Twin Valley 'Raider' Marching Band is comprised of band members from grades 9-12 and performs at all Twin Valley High School football games, fall and spring parades, community events, and in local area competitive band festivals.
Summer rehearsals begin in June and culminate in Band Camp during the first week of August. During the rest of the fall season, the band rehearses during the week on Tuesday & Thursday evenings, as well as on festival/competition days.
In the 2023 and 2024 competitive seasons, Twin Valley Marching Band has placed ‘second’ in Cavalcade of Band’s Championships, winning awards for ‘High Music’ and High Overall Effect.
Meetings & Activities:
Marching Band meets multiple times per week after school and in the evening. They participate in practices, trips, do fundraisers, performances, competitions and events!

Mini-THON
Purpose:
To bring together people under one united cause: to conquer Pediatric Cancer. Each year the clubs members raise money through fundraisers which are carefully planned. All the money that is raised is donated straight to Four Diamonds which helps pay off medical bills for children fighting cancer! Mini-THON is essentially a model of Penn States THON, where we raise awareness and funds to conquer childhood Cancer!
Meetings & Activities:
Mini-THON general membership meetings occur once a week before school. Mini-THON officers typically meet more often. There are many fundraisers held throughout the year such as babysitting nights, Gold Out, Mini-Mini-THON, Color Run, Movie Nights, etc... all leading up to the "big event": Mini-THON.

Mission Possible
Purpose:
Mission Possible aims to bring joy to children in local hospitals. Our purpose is to raise funds to purchase gifts for baskets to deliver on a monthly basis to a hospital in Berks or Chester Counties. We welcome any and all students in grades 9-12 who would like to help spread joy to children in local hospitals. We also welcome donations for our baskets and supplies as we are a club that runs 100% on fundraisers and donations to support our mission.

Mission Possible meets once per week before school and sometimes evenings and on weekends. They participate in meetings, trips and hold fundraisers

National Honor Society
Purpose:
By empowering, championing, and recognizing well-rounded students, NHS provides schools with a values-based framework to elevate a culture of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. We facilitate the New Student Orientation as well as the NHS Induction Ceremony for new members. We organize community service opportunities and provide a tutoring service for TVSD students.
Meetings & Activities:
Students in NHS meet once a month before and after school. Officers meet with the advisors for an additional meeting once a month. The entire membership meets once a month before school, and the officer meeting varies before or after school depending on the schedule of the students and advisors.

Orchestra
String Ensemble- to give string students the opportunity to both practice and perform in a small group, chamber setting. They meet once per week to practice and participate in performances.
String Quartet is comprised of the principal players from the violin, viola, and cello sections of the orchestra. It's purpose is to give string section leaders the opportunity to play advanced and challenging string repertoire in a small setting. They meet once per week to practice, perform and do community events.

Peer Tutoring
Purpose:
Peer tutoring allows students that need help in classes to be tutored by their fellow classmates and students throughout the school.
Meetings & Activities:

Prom Committee
Purpose:
Each year this group is in charge of choosing the theme for that year's Prom. We meet throughout the year to fundraise and plan the Prom. Students help choose: the decorations, the invitations, the royalty, the photobooth, and the song list.

The Prom Committee meets once per month to plan Prom.

Respect the Raider
Retire the Raider
Purpose:
We aspire to educate our students, teachers, and alumni on indigenous history in order to provide a better atmosphere of respect and appreciation. Our primary goal is to have the Twin Valley School District discontinue and eventually remove, all indigenous imagery and references. Twin Valley's Raider mascot and imagery is historically inaccurate and culturally insensitive.

Officers meet once a month before school and all other members meet during flex.

Science Olympiad
Purpose:
To prepare as a team (of up to 15) for Regional Science Olympiad Competition in March.

Science Olympiad meets once per week after school to prepare for the competition.

Senior Class Leadership
Purpose:
The senior class leadership meets to plan fundraising and events for the senior class during their senior year.
Meetings & Activities:
The senior class leadership meets once a month after school and sometimes during flex. They have meetings, go on trips and hold fundraisers that all go towards the senior class.

Sips of the Valley
Purpose:
Sips of the Valley is intended to be a place where students and teachers can decompress after a long day/week with some warm beverages and friendly discussions. Students are welcome to bring their own beverages or a specific tea that they prefer, but there will be hot water, tea and hot chocolate provided.

Sips of the Valley meets once per week after school.

Ski Club
Purpose:
The TVHS Ski and Snowboard Club enables students to pursue the lifetime physical activity of skiing and snowboarding. The club travels to Blue Mountain on Friday evenings throughout the winter season. In addition, the club offers the opportunity to travel to Vermont once per season.
Meetings:
Ski Club meets once per week after school. They travel to Blue Mountain on Fridays and also go on a Vermont trip once per year.

Spanish Honor Society
Purpose:
To promote the Spanish language and cultures throughout the Twin Valley community and beyond.
Meetings & Activities:
Spanish Honors Society meets once a month, or sometimes once a week when planning an event, after school to plan trips, events and discuss Spanish culture.

Stage Crew
Student Council (STUCO)
Purpose:
Student Council is an organization that focuses on bringing leadership, charitable endeavors, and spirit to the students of TVHS. A few endeavors of Student Council include leadership conferences, volunteering events, hosting school dances and spirit weeks, and many other activities. As a group, our students strive to bring our pillars of leadership, spirit, and charity to our school and our community.
Student Council is open to all students in TVHS, but all interested students must submit their membership forms at the beginning of the year. Membership applications are opened at the start of the school year, and all new and returning members must submit their applications by the posted due date. Transfer or new students can join Student Council once they have officially enrolled at TVHS at any time during the year.

STUCO meets once per week before and after school. They plan trips, fundraisers, and events for the student body.

TSA (Technology Student Association)
Purpose:
The Technology Student Association enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in STEM, whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intra-curricular activities, competitions, and related programs.
Meetings & Activities:
TSA meets weekly afterschool to discuss fundraisers and prepare for competitions.

Theater Arts Club
Purpose:
Theater Arts Club and Stage Crew provide students the opportunity to learn more about the world of the performing arts. Students will have the chance to travel to different venues to experience live theater and get backstage tours and talks with professionals in the industry; they will work with professionals in exclusive workshops in vocals, acting, stage combat, improv, choreography and tech; students will work with professionals to learn about stage design, construction, and lighting and sound design.

Theater Arts Club meets one time per month afterschool. They have meetings, trips, fundraisers, performances, competitions and other events!

Tri-M
Purpose:
The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy.
Tri-M is the only music honor society for junior/middle school and high school students in United States. Our high school chapter welcomes students in grades 9-12.
Meetings & Activities:
Tri-M meets once per month. Officers of Tri-M meet seperate from membership and have additional meetings as needed. During meetings, they discuss fundraisers, events and musical education.

TVHS Heroes
Purpose:
Students will be serving as positive role models to younger students in the district. Students visit the elementary schools once per quarter to teach and interact with students. There are clear expectations and responsibilities to be a TVHS Hero, and students must apply at the start of the school year.
Meetings & Activities:
Student go to the elementary schools to visit the students once per quarter. TVHS Heroes meet once a month to discuss plans and events for the elementary school visits. Mandatory meetings occur during flex to prepare for the upcoming trip to the elementary school.

Twin Valley Labyrinth
Purpose:
Creative Design and allowing student voices to be heard in a literary magazine. Creating a student publication for print to give to the community. We allow any students to join the club or submit work to the publication!
Meetings & Activities:
Labyrinth meets once per month after school. Their final product is the Twin Valley Labyrinth Literary Magazine.

Varsity Club
Purpose:
Recognize those who are varsity athletes and provide opportunities to those athletes that help them in what their needs are.
Meetings & Activities:
Varsity Club meets once per month. They have meetings, fundraisers and tips including the Reading Royals and Philadelphia Phillies.

Yearbook
Purpose:
Creative Design and Completion of the Twin Valley High School Yearbook- The Vallian.

Yearbook meets once per month after school.

Students interested in starting new clubs at Twin Valley High School should adhere to the following process:
1. Identify a faculty or staff member willing to serve as the advisor.
2. Complete a “Request to Meet With an Administrator” form in the High School Office. Note the name of the proposed club under “Reason for meeting”.
3. Meet with the principal to request approval to move forward. Discuss the purpose of the club and what events would take place for the club (meetings, fundraisers, etc.).
4. If approved, advertise the first meeting with a flyer authorized by the advisor.
