The 4th & 5th Grade Center Guidance

Welcome, my name is Shannon Sprowles and I am the 4th and 5th Grade School Counselor.  I am so excited to work with you and your students this year.  Please feel free to reach out and contact me with any questions or concerns you may have in regards to your child.

The 4th & 5th Grade Center conflict management program is called Kelso's Choice. You may already be familiar with K.C., as we have been using this program for several years. Our froggy friend, K.C., teaches the students how to be a peacemaker while empowering them to make good choices and solve conflict on their own. They will learn the difference between the small problems they can handle on their own, and the big issues that will need the support of an adult. These are excellent tools for them not only at school but also important strategies that they can utilize anytime, any place!

Parents and families are essential partners in promoting good attendance because they have the bottom-line responsibility for making sure their children get to school every day. Just as parents should focus on how their children are performing academically, they have a responsibility to set expectations for good attendance and to monitor their children’s absences, so that missed days don’t add up to academic trouble.
