Torrance Adult School offers Career Technical Education (CTE) program courses that are driven and defined by career industries. Certification from these programs shows employers that you have completed the core competencies and are qualified to work in a particular career industry.

Industry recognized certifications:
Some classes offer preparation for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and the Intuit Quickbooks Certified User (QBCU) exams. Testing is available for enrolled students at our Levy campus.
Are you a current English as a Second Language (ESL) student who is in level 5 or higher? Or are you an adult high school diploma/equivalency student who is close to completion?
If yes, you may be eligible to receive additional ESL and/or academic support when you enroll in a TAS Allied Health, Microsoft Excel and Word, or Childcare Providers course.

Financial Aid
Apply to financial aid through FAFSA.GOV. The FAFSA application helps colleges/universities determine your financial aid eligibility and amount. Financial aid can come in the form of a grant, which you are not required to pay back, or in the form of a student loan. When you are ready to apply to college, make sure to submit your FAFSA application. You must have a high school diploma or equivalency to be eligible. To fill out the application, you will need the following information:
Your Social Security Number
Your Alien Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
Your federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)
Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
An FSA ID to sign electronically.

Los Angeles College Promise (LACP)
The Los Angeles College Promise (LACP) serves first-time, full-time college students with a comprehensive strategy designed to support students to complete a higher education degree and/or a workforce certificate. It is a partnership between Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), City of Los Angeles, LA Chamber of Commerce, UNITE LA and private philanthropy.
Important aspects of the Promise are waived tuition for the first two years of college, priority enrollment, additional financial support, and a dedicated support team providing a wide array of academic and student support services.
