What is a nErD Camp?

nErDCamp SoCal is a literacy-based  FREE un-conference which pays homage to the Nerdy Book Club.  Unlike a traditional conference, there is no predetermined conference program.  Participants come to both lead and listen.  On the day of, participants will come with an session idea and a catchy title.  We will display all the options and  all nErDCampers will "vote with their feet" - meaning, they will go to the sessions that sound interesting and leave if the session does not peak their interest -- no judgement OR if they saw two sessions they wanted to attend and wanted to swing by both.  

During the summer, we will gather at the historic Torrance High School, home of the Tartars, Beverly Hills 90210, She's All That, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  For the first half-hour, we will mingle, snack, add to the session board and watch it come to life  with literacy-based ideas for all.  We will have an inspirational introduction, a total of 3 sessions and a book signing.
