In order to qualify for the A+ Schools Program, a student must:
have an A+ application on file in the Counselor's office
attend an A+ designated high school for the three consecutive years immediately prior to graduation
graduate with at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
graduate with a 95% attendance rate
perform 50 hours of unpaid tutoring/mentoring
maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the use and/or possession of illegal drugs and/or alcohol and /or related paraphernalia
Have achieved a score of proficient or advanced on the Algebra I end of course exam
In order to receive A+ funds from the state, the following must also be completed:
make a good faith, documented effort to obtain federal financial aid that does not require repayment (FAFSA)
provide the student's social security number and full name (including middle)
have documentation of registration with the Selective Service if required by law to do so (male students)

Attendance Policy
graduate with a 95% attendance rate, based on four years
cumulative attendance information used by the A+ Coordinators will come from the official attendance records kept by the Miller County R-III School District
for students who attend tech school for one half of the day, attendance information will be gathered from the tech shcool and sent to the A+ coordinator who will add this information to the Miller County R-III School District records
if students do not meet this requirement due to unforseeable situations (medical absences, etc.), the student and/or parent can file an absence appeal with the A+ coordinatior
while filing an appeal, the student and/or parent must do so using the A+ Waiver of Absence form found in the student manual; student and parent signatures on the A+ Schools Participation Agreement allows the A+ coordinator to check attendance records to verify compliance with this requirement
Tutoring Requirements
perform 50 hours of unpaid tutoring/mentoring
students may fulfill this requirement by being A+ tutors during school hours
have an A+ Schools Participation Agreement on file in the Counselors office before beginning
perform the tutoring under the supervision of a certified teacher
submit a student tutoring log to the A+ Coordinator for all hours towards this requirement
