Our fundraising year culminates in one, big, hours-long event called Jag-A-Thon, where we work to push for more funds for Children's of Alabama Hospital and we come together to celebrate the patients of CoA! This is a "marathon" 8 hour event, where participants spend an entire day fundraising and having fun together, and the students stay on their feet through dancing, games, and entertainment in order to celebrate the total amount raised that year.
Why stay on your feet for that long? To quote the first Children’s Miracle Network Dance Marathon’s mission statement: “We dance for those who can’t.” It is this solidarity to and connection with the cause that makes Dance Marathon an event unlike any other.
At our most recent Jag-A-Thon, we had games such as spike ball, corn hole, Twister, and Hungry Hungry Hippos, as well as an organized volleyball tournament, dodgeball, themed dress up hours, a bounce house, an ice cream truck, and a visit from the Tuscaloosa Barnyard. There was food, bracelet making, face paint, letter writing to our Miracle Kids, and much much more!!
