Day 7 - 8/28/2018 - Our Last Day in Homer
Today's Weather: Bright sunshine, 64 degrees high, 47 low with light winds.
Today was a beautiful sunny and clear day with high temperature 64 degrees. The air is so fresh here that our sinuses finally got a break from the hot and humid weather back home. We so much enjoyed being outside and even ate our lunch outside on the deck of our B&B.

We took advantage of the perfect weather and revisited some spots near Homer. We then drove out East End Road with sweeping views of Kachemak Bay, glaciers and mountains. We drove past Kilcher Homestead for those of you who watch the reality TV show “Alaska: The Last Frontier”. We started to drive down Kilcher Road, but there was construction going on there and we decided to turn back since our rental car was not allowed on dirt roads.
We drove farther out the East End to Eveline State Recreation Site and walked the Glacier View and Meadow View Trails. On the way back we had just stopped at Fritz Creek General Store when we saw a moose and her two calves run across the road. They got confused as some traffic approached and almost ran back into the road, but fortunately didn’t get hit by the traffic. Wow! Those large animals are sure agile and fast.
