Helpful Course Planning Tools
Students should exercise care in the course selection process. In addition to collaborating with parents/guardians, we encourage students to talk about their future with as many trusted adults as possible. It is ultimately the student's responsibility to choose the correct classes, maintain the proper required credits, and do the final check on all requirements that affect their future. The worksheets above can help with determining credit load and to ensure THS credit requirements are met.

Turner strongly encourages all students to take at least one AP course during their high school career. We further recommend students attempt to find balance in their scheduling choices. Due to increased out-of-class workload needed for success, selecting more than two AP courses in a year is generally discouraged for most students. To reduce schedule conflicts and to support readiness based on traditional course sequencing, we recommend the following timing for students who are considering pursuing AP courses:
10th Grade: AP US History
AP Pre-Calculus
11th Grade: AP Pre-Calculus
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP Government and Politics
AP Statistics
12th Grade: AP Art and Design
AP Biology
AP Calculus AB
AP Calculus BC
AP English
AP Physics
AP Spanish
