Welcome to Turkey Valley School

Turkey Valley School is a preschool through 12th grade public school in northeast Iowa serving 404 students.  

The district serves five rural towns: Lawler, Protivin, Fort Atkinson, Waucoma, and St. Lucas.  

GETTING HERE

Turkey Valley School is located off of US Highway 24 and Country Road V68.

There are two entrances.  We ask that all vehicles enter and exit through the Highway 24 Entrance.  The V68 entrance will be closed on the day of contest

PARKING

STUDENT DROP OFF: Buses will drop off at the spectator entrance. DO NOT DROP OFF ONE ACT OR CHORAL READING LARGE PIECES HERE. 

BUS PARKING: Once students have unloaded, please proceed to the area by the softball diamond/playground area and park. 

PROP/SET DROP OFF: All props and set pieces may be dropped off at the prop/set entrance, just off of the playground.  DO NOT DROP OFF STUDENTS AT THIS LOCATION.

SPECTATOR PARKING: All spectators will park in the main parking lot as you enter the property and enter through the Spectator Entrance.

Center 1

Musical Theatre
Group Mime
Solor Mime

Center is located in our carpeted conference room.  There will be two entrances/exits available the day of contest from this room.  A warm up room will be available just down the hallway.  Spectators will need to be reminded that the waiting area outside of the center does carry sound quite easily and voices must be kept to a minimum.

Center 2

Ensemble Acting

Center 3 is located in our high school library. There will be an entrance for performers and a separate entrance for spectators.  The tables that are in view will be the type of table available for performers.

Center 3

Reader's Theatre

Center 3 is located in our band/choir auditorium.  Students will perform on the raised stage. Risers will be available as well.  There will be two entrances/exists available the day of contest from this room.

Center 4

TV News & Radio

Center 4 is located in room 230.  Remember your school is responsible for providing your own projector and playing device.  Do not rely on wifi.

Center 5

Group Improv

Center 5 is located in room 330.  This is a double room so there will be plenty of space for spectators and performers alike.  If your group would like to warm up there is an available room next door in rom 370. 

Center 6

Short Film, Radio, & TV News

Center 6 is located in room 420. Remember your school is responsible for providing your own projector and playing device.  Do not rely on wifi. 


Center 7

One Act & Choral Reading

Center 1 is located in our Multi Purpose Room.  All props must be brought in at the south entrance, indicated on the map. Bathrooms, hair and makeup rooms, dressing rooms will be available in the locker rooms by the Home Base. Spectators should use the main entrance on the east side of the building.  Limited lighting and sound will be available.  The shell and risers will be removed.
