The School of Ministry (SOM) is an intensive, multi-faceted Bible course designed to train students to attain the following:
A vital Relationship with the Living God
An ability to build strong relationships with others
Basic skills and gifts in ministry to others
SOM is modularly structured. Tung Ling understands your needs and has an extensive program carved out specially for your benefit, tailored to fit a busy schedule. We have 2 streams of content delivery available.
The ON SITE (DAY) program is held in the Subang Jaya premises for 12 weeks (3 months).
The ONLINE (NIGHT) program is held for 22 weeks (11 weeks per year) for 2 years.
The first emphasis of SOM will bring the students into spiritual renewal and teaches them how to maintain it.
The second emphasis will broaden their skills in relating and working with other Christians.
The third emphasis will equip them with basic ministry skills for serving others.

A Personal Encounter
SOM is a place of encounter with God. Here, you will be prepared to take possession of your inheritance. Here, you will gain a fresh understanding of God’s character and a renewed sense of wholehearted dedication to His service. By the grace of God, you will be more firmly established in your identity in Christ and be poised, at the end of the program, to take hold of your calling with greater strength.
Ministerial Equipping
SOM provides students the opportunity to seek spiritual refreshing and discover God’s will and purposes for their lives. The course also helps church workers who want to be trained and equipped in their ministry. Courses are taught by anointed lecturers of international repute, and comprise topics that cover many facets of Christian living and ministry.
Life-Changing Experience
In light of eternity, 12-22 weeks seems insignificant. However, in light of our lives, our priorities and responsibilities, this span of time can seem a formidable, and for some, an impossible length. Consider too, that while what we do is very important, who we are in Christ will determine the success of anything we hope to do.
What can be accomplished in only 12-22 weeks? God can touch you! And God’s touch will change your life! Now, consider coming away for this period of time to prepare for a future of God’s design; to pursue, not a career, but the Lord Himself, and to refresh yourself in things that will last. Students are groomed in ministry development and will be given a privilege to serve in their church. Our lecturers are mainly from the US, UK, NZ, Singapore, KL, Ipoh and Penang, who specialize in their special areas of ministries.
A student receives a Certificate of Ministry upon the successful completion of the course. After SOM, the student may consider obtaining a Diploma or Degree of Ministry by enrolling for our Diploma/Degree Program.
More than just studies
Besides attending lectures, students will be involved in sharing devotions, leading worship, daily prayer, fasting, journaling, participating in outreaches and recreation.
It is a HOLISTIC CHRISTIAN STUDY
SPIRITUAL LIFE FORMATION
A study of the processes by which character is formed and its connection with our cognitive and emotional faculties and the workings in the inner heart of man.
BIBLE DISCOVERY
A study of selected Old and New Testament books to provide a glimpse into the culture, customs and background of the biblical context. To provide students with an understanding of church history and Christianity in the New Testament period.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS
A study of the biblical principles of godly leadership and understand the skills required to lead and shepherd God’s people.
MINISTRY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Understanding spiritual development and intimacy with God
BASIC ART OF COMMUNICATIONS
A study of Personality types, Leadership, Music and Worship, and Homiletics
Part-time or Full-time Student
Students may enrol on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on their employment status. Part-time students only attend lectures. Full-time students supplement class lectures with spiritual disciplines, academic work, social activities and recreation scheduled by the School of Ministry.
