Expectations
<<<<<This is long, but important. READ IT ALL!>>>>>
Each week, I will update the WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT SCHEDULE to help you keep track of the total number of DIGITAL ASSESSMENTS due that Sunday.
Each day I will post an assignment under "Classwork." These assignments will each consist of at least three components: the LESSON, the KEY, and at least one instructional VIDEO.
The LESSON
This is a blank digital copy of the lesson for the day. This document will serve three purposes: 1) it contains the completed notes on the topic for you to read; 2) it will be used as a guide for your own independent practice. To further explain the second point, my vision is for you to work through the problems of the LESSON on a separate sheet of paper for independent practice. 3) the last page of the LESSON will direct you to the corresponding DIGITAL ASSESSMENT for that day.
The KEY
This is the exact same document as the LESSON, except the answers for the Do Now and Practice sections of the document are provided in red. THIS IS MEANT AS A TOOL TO HELP YOU BETTER PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE DIGITAL ASSESSMENT. As you work on the practice problems provided in the LESSON, check your answers with the KEY to ensure you are on the right track. Once you feel confident with your practice, you may move on to the DIGITAL ASSESSMENT.
--note: Each LESSON should take around 30 minutes to read through the notes, watch any instructional videos, and work through several practice problems. Set a timer when you are doing practice problems for 20 minutes. If you didn't get through them, that is okay! Check your answers with the KEY and decide if you need any more practice before moving on to the DIGITAL ASSESSMENT. If you are still stuck, come to OFFICE HOURS.
The VIDEOS
At least one instructional video will be posted to help you prepare for the topic's DIGITAL ASSESSMENT. In these videos I model guided practice problems, working each problem out by hand. You can pause or go back in the videos if I am going too fast.
The DIGITAL ASSESSMENT
This can come in many different forms (DeltaMath, Desmos, Khan, etc.). As you can see on the attached schedule, every DIGITAL ASSESSMENT for week 29 will be a DeltaMath assessment. This will not always be the case. In order to know which DIGITAL ASSIGNMENTS are due each week, you will either need to check 1) the weekly assignment schedule or 2) the last page of each day's LESSON.
