1.  Complete 15 A-G courses (11 of them by end of junior year)

The CSU requires a minimum 15-unit pattern of courses for admission as a first-time freshman. Each unit is equal to a year of study in a subject area. A grade of C or better is required for each course you use to meet any subject requirement. 

2. Earn a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better in   a-g courses with no grade lower than a C.

As a result to the suspension of the SAT and ACT, a temporary change was made to the CSU admission eligibility criteria; supplemental factors may be required.

3. Option to submit SAT/ACT test scores

The California State University (CSU) has temporarily suspended the use of ACT/SAT examinations in determining admission eligibility for all CSU campuses for the 2021-2022 academic year. This temporary change of admission eligibility applies only for the fall 2021, winter 2022 and spring 2022 admission cycles. You need to complete a minimum of 15 college-preparatory courses (A-G courses) with a letter grade of C or better. For courses completed during the 2020 winter, spring or summer terms, UC will also accept a grade of pass/credit. You must complete at least 11 of these courses prior to the beginning of your last year of high school.

Option to submit SAT/ACT test scores

Exam requirement

UC will not consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships. If you choose to submit test scores as part of your application, they may be used as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll.
