When is the TuHS Library open?

During regular school days Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM


Library Rules:

Be respectful of your surroundings, people are here to work or read please be mindful of your volume. Disregard for others or the space and you will be asked to leave. The no phone rule applies for the library, and that includes free release students. Please have a pass when coming into the library.

Book Check Out

What do I need to check out a library book or textbook?

Please have your TuHS Student ID or number (it's okay if you don't we'll figure it out).

What is the standard check out period for a book or textbook?

Textbooks - Textbooks are checked out for a year, a semester, or a term, depending on how long the class is in session. 

Library books - The standard check out period for a library book is 3 weeks. Sometimes a teacher will want you to keep the book longer than this. Just let us know when you check out the book, we will be happy to give you more time. 

Are late fines charged for overdue books?

Using Computers in the Library

How can I use the computers in the library?

Computers in the library are open to use before and after school, during breaks and lunches. During class, you MUST have a signed pass to be in the library and to use a computer. 

How do I print in the library?

Using a library computer, you may print materials to the provided student printer only. If you need to print to print more than ten pages there is a fee of $0.10 a page. 

What if I need technical assistance on the computers? 

Any tech questions, including troubles logging in or out of your Google account, StudentVue or other school based websites or password problems, you can fill out  a ticket at Student Tech Help 

Streaming use 

Can I stream this movie from Hulu/Netflix/ESPN/ETC...

Netflix

Netflix has made provisions for educational use of "select" Netflix Original Documentaries. This does not include the entire Netflix database. Additionally, when agreeing to Netflix Terms and Conditions upon account creation, specifications state that the "service and any content viewed through the service is for your personal and non-commercial use only."

The instructions below should be used with your personal account information. To determine if a documentary you wish to stream in a classroom setting is included, complete the following steps:

Hulu

When agreeing to Hulu Terms and Conditions upon account creation, specifications state that "using the services, including accessing and viewing the Content on a streaming-only basis, [is for] personal, non-commercial purposes." 

Hulu has not made provisions for educational screenings of its content. While classroom use would be non-commercial, it would not be considered personal use. Streaming Hulu content in a classroom setting would be a direct violation of licensing terms (section 3.2).

Amazon Prime 

When agreeing to Amazon Prime Video Terms and Conditions upon account creation, specifications state that "Amazon grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, limited license, during the applicable Viewing Period, to access and view the Digital Content in accordance with the Usage Rules, for personal, non-commercial, private use." 

Amazon has not made provisions for educational screenings of its content. While classroom use would be non-commercial, it would not be considered personal/private use. Streaming Amazon content in a classroom setting would be a direct violation of licensing terms (section 4h).
