For anyone looking to improve their grasp of the English language, you can utilize the English as a Second Language Tuition Benefit. TTIC covers the cost for one English language course per quarter through the ELI.

Your UChicago ID card will allow you to receive free or discounted admission to over 70 arts and cultural venues in Chicago, such as the Revival, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Art Institute of Chicago, or the Music Box Theater. You can even "Study at the ____." where students are allowed to treat UChicago's museums, art galleries and cultural centers like study hall.
A student-run film society that dedicates each night to a particular theme, the ticket prices are low but the movies are wide-ranging. They also host special events such as conversations with directors, critics, and student film showings.
Divvy is a bike and scooter-sharing system that has stations around the city. TTIC students can receive a discount through our relationship with the University of Chicago for bike-sharing.
Shuttles around the campus will safely and in climate-controlled comfort take you to stops throughout campus and the Hyde Park, Kenwood, Woodlawn neighboring communities.
Students can book free rides on and around the UChicago campus from 5 pm to 4 am, seven days a week via the Via app. Rides must start and end within the campus service area.
The Department of Safety and Security operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on and off campus to help keep you safe.
The c-Alert is the emergency alert system for campus. It can alert you to any safety events you may need to be aware of, whether it be a shelter in place order, or an extreme weather warning. Log in and arrange how you want to be notified of emergencies: text, email, call, any or all.
Downloading UChicago's Safe Mobile Safety App. on your phone is a must. It provides great safety features when you are on campus, including direct-connect to UChicago Police, 'Friend Walk' (send your real-time location to a friend of your choosing while you walk) and 'Mobile Bluelight' (send your location as you walk to the UChicago Police).
UChicago is served by their own recognized police force that covers 37th to 64th street. They provide many services, including bike registration in case your bringing your own two wheeler to get around campus.
