In the Art Studio, we spend our time together learning about art history, methods, safety, critical thinking, and problem solving. Throughout the year we will use paper, a variety of paint, clay, fibers, and a variety of drawing/coloring tools. Each project strives to push each student artist to use their creativity and understanding to create the best work possible.  I expect all of my artists to listen, follow directions, and try their best each and every week.

Positive Rewards:

1. Students can earn “Good as Gold” tickets from any staff member to be used toward rewards determined by their individual classroom teachers.

2. During each class period, I will choose an "Artist of the Day", based on their participation in class, following the directions & Golden Rules, using class time productively, being a supportive member of our art community, and/or exercising creativity.

3. Each class will work together as a community of artists each week to earn points toward an "Arty Party" to celebrate good choices & positive behavior.

4. The "Golden Brush" will be awarded to one class each week for demonstrating the qualities & practiced traits of our Klondike Golden Rules.

Data Collection, Analysis, & Use of Interventions:

• Classroom clipboards travel with each class and are used to record both positive and negative behaviors by teachers and staff.

• Teachers use behavior data to plan engaging and interactive lessons that are differentiated to the needs of their students and classroom.

Corrections/Minor Infractions:

• Unexpected negative behaviors will be recorded as “Corrections” on the clipboard by the supervising teacher under the Golden rule that connects to the behavior

• 2+ Corrections require some form of communication home

• 5+ Corrections can lead to Office Discipline Referral
