Classroom Management: James Cole Elementary has been a C.L.A.S.S. (Connecting Learning Assures Successful Students) School since it opened in 1989. Throughout the year, we will be discussing and working on the Life Goals, Life-long Guidelines and Life Skills. C.L.A.S.S. is supported by administrators, teachers, parents, and students. Their Mission: To enrich the quality of peoples’ lives.

We will be using ClassDojo to help us become responsible for our own actions. Students are expected to Treat People Right and Do the Right Thing (Truth, Trust, Kindness, Personal Best, and Active Listening). Each child will have their own avatar and earn points for following our rules / procedures. If he/she is not able follow the rules / procedures, they will loose points. They use their points for Dojo Points to purchase a reward or they may save thier points for a more valuable rewards.

Depending on the situation, he / she may lose recess, bring a note home, make a phone call home, or go straight to Mr. Pinto’s office.

The Cole Responsibility Plan may be used for more serious consequences helping the child to become responsible for his/her own behavior. The student will fill out the Cole Responsibility Plan and take it to Mr. Pinto immediately. He / She will bring it home for a parent signature too.
