Starting my 31st year in education, I'm excited to share it with a new group of students. I have enjoyed several years in third grade, but also have experience in 2nd, 4th, and 5th. Third grade is a big year, and I am looking forward to teaming up with all parents to make it a success for each child.
This will be my 11th year in TSC. I first joined the corporation as an instructional coach working alongside teachers at all grade levels on curriculum and professional development goals. After three years in this position, my heart was telling me how much I missed being a classroom teacher where I feel I can serve students best. Before coming to TSC, I taught for 20 years and held various teacher leadership roles in the Lebanon Community School Corporation.
I am originally from nearby Frankfort, Indiana (a Hotdog!), but have called Lafayette home for the past 25 years. I completed my undergraduate degree in elementary education at Indiana University Bloomington in 1996. Don't worry though, Boilermakers...I am happy to root for Purdue when they are not playing IU (and even work part-time at Purdue's Elliott Hall of Music and Stewart Center). I also hold a master's degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan University.
I enjoy reading, outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking, attending sporting events (college football and Chicago Cubs baseball games in particular), concerts/plays/musicals, and most of all, being an aunt to my three nephews who live in Colorado. At home I share life with David and our Labrador retriever named Woodson, whom we adore. He's still very much a puppy and a bit ornery, so the students will hear lots of "Woodsy" stories. My greatest joys come from the times I spend with my family, close friends, and, of course, my students!
Go, Cubs, GO!

Hiking in Alaska...one of my favorite places to be.
