About Mrs. Fay

Hello! I'm so glad to be your learner's teacher this year! A bit about me: I grew up in West Lafayette and attended Purdue University. I currently live in Lafayette with my husband, Chris, my 2 cats, Ginny and Zuka, and my Golden Retriever, Doug. In my free time, I love to go out and enjoy nature! I enjoy kayaking, hiking, camping, and anything else that gets me outside. I love new adventures and trying new things. I also love reading and watching movies while I'm curled up with one of my cats!

My Teaching Philosophy

I have always loved working with kids and knew working with children was a passion of mine at a very young age. First and foremost, I want to ensure that my classroom feels safe. I want it to feel like a home away from home where kids can feel free to share their thoughts, feelings, opinions, and emotions without a worry. I think it is important to create a community within the classroom that thrives on teamwork and cooperation, where there is no student in the classroom who feels like they're alone. I want my students to feel like they can rely on each other and are valued members of our classroom community.

I believe that all students are unique and need a teacher to cater to each child's individual needs in a safe and engaging learning environment. I want to create a classroom where students can flourish and explore to reach their full potential. My goal is to help my students become self-sufficient learners who use their resources to figure something our rather than just asking for the answer.

I look forward to getting to know you and your learner throughout the school year!
