Welcome to I.C.E. - S.T.E.P. in Mr. Lowrey’s classroom. In order for this semester to run smoothly and be enjoyable for everybody, there are some classroom expectations and procedures you will need to learn. Proper use of these expectations and procedures will ensure a successful and rewarding year for all of us. Please feel free to come and talk with me if any problems ever come up. My door is always open!
Mission Statement
This course is designed to assist individuals with disabilities in improved employment and post-school outcomes. The goal of this program can be met and dealt with most effectively through curriculum that focuses on:

Classroom Expectations
1. Be on time!
2. Bring materials with you to class.
· Laptop (May ONLY be used if given permission, otherwise, they are to remain closed.), pencil, paper & folder (to be kept in the classroom)
3. Be respectful - work quietly and allow others to do their work.
4. Each student is expected to address restroom and water needs before class.
5. Cell phones or any other electronic device must be kept out of sight at ALL times unless permission is granted.
6. All school policies and disciplinary procedures (i.e., warnings, ISS, detention, referral, etc.) apply in this classroom as well (see the 2016-2017 Harrison High School Handbook for complete details).
Grading Procedures
Every assignment, quiz, test, project, presentation, daily participation grade, etc. will be worth a set number of points, which will ultimately makeup the student's grade.
A 100-90
B 89-80
C 79-70
D 69-60
F 59-0
*Homework MAY be turned in late, however, 50% of the possible points will be deducted and it must be turned in before the next chapter is covered.
Procedures for entering the classroom
1. WALK into the room QUIETLY.
2. Sit in your assigned seat once the bell rings.
3. See the day’s agenda on board.
4. Begin working on the “Bell-Ringer” & sit quietly waiting for further instruction.
Procedures for in-class textbooks
1. No textbooks go home unless arrangements made with teacher (i.e., a book or two may be checked out, but must be returned the next day)
Procedures for hallway/restroom passes
1. Each student may use 4 passes per semester.
2. Sign-out and take pass.
3. Sign-in and return pass.
Procedures for turning in homework
1. Be sure your full name, date and assignment are at the top right of your paper.
2. The teacher will give instructions to turn in homework in class tray or someone will be around to pick it up.

1. Make sure your area is clean.
2. Walk QUIETLY out of the room when the teacher dismisses you.
