I grew up in Northwest Indiana and attended Merrillville Community Schools for my entire K–12 education. It was there that my love for learning flourished and inspired me to pursue a career in teaching.

After graduating from high school in the spring of 2022, I took the next giant leap in my journey and began studying Elementary Education at Purdue University as a proud Boilermaker. Throughout my college experience, I completed several concentrations and certifications to complement my coursework, earning endorsements in Multilingual Education, Blended and Online Learning, Early Literacy, and Reading.

In addition to my studies, I completed multiple practicum experiences that allowed me to connect educational theory with real-world classroom practice. My preparation culminated in a year-long student teaching residency in a second-grade classroom at Prairie Crossing Elementary School in Benton County.

These experiences have provided me with a strong foundation as I dive into my first year of teaching. I am excited to create a positive, engaging learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow both academically and personally!

My educational philosophy is rooted in a whole-child approach, recognizing that students thrive when their academic, social, emotional, and personal needs are supported. I believe every child brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives into the classroom, and it is my responsibility to create a learning environment where each student feels valued, capable, and empowered. By fostering curiosity, encouraging growth mindset, and providing meaningful learning experiences, I strive to help students develop not only as learners but also as confident and compassionate individuals.

At the heart of my teaching and classroom management practices is the belief that strong relationships drive student success. When students feel connected, respected, and understood, they are more willing to take risks, engage in learning, and contribute positively to the classroom community. I prioritize building trusting relationships with students and families, creating a supportive environment where expectations are clear and every child feels a sense of belonging. Through these relationships, I am able to guide students toward academic achievement, personal responsibility, and positive social growth!
