Our Class Management System:
In our classroom, students will start with 5 points each day they are present in class. If a student is not following our class rules listed above the student will lose a point. This is recorded on our class clipboard which goes with our class to specials and lunch/recess. The positive points your child keeps each day turns into classroom paper money (“Brain Bucks”) which students have the opportunity to use in our classroom store every few weeks. Students can earn up to $5 in Brain Bucks per day if they do not lose any points. In our classroom store, students may purchase items such as a new bookmark, extra technology time, an item from the treasure chest, lunch with the teacher, etc. Every quarter students may also choose to use their money to purchase items for our grade level incentive day. Below is our classroom system:
Loss of 1 point: Verbal Warning
Loss of 2 points: Practice of the class rule
Loss of 3 points: Student fills out a “Think Sheet” to reflect on improving the behavior skill. This sheet requires a parent signature and is to be returned to school.
Loss of 4 points: Parent Contact by TSC2Go app message, email or phone
Loss of 5 points: Office Referral (Some behaviors may receive an automatic office
referral without following the steps above.)
If negative behavior takes place in the cafeteria, at recess, or during Specials (music, library, art, computer lab and PE), the above consequences will also be enforced.
