Language:   Grades are based on grammar assignments and quizzes.

Science:   Grades are based on in-class work, group projects, experiments, and quizzes.

Social Studies:  Grades are based on comprehension of text, in-class work, and quizzes/tests.

Missing work will result in a zero in the gradebook.  I always call a student up to my desk when I am missing an assignment from them.  I also do a few grade checks during each quarter that will be sent home and inform you of any missing assignments.  In PowerSchool, missing assignments will be marked with an orange exclamation mark.  They will not be put in as zeroes until the end of the quarter, so grades will drop at the end if the missing assignment is not turned in.  Please check PowerSchool regularly to keep up to date on your student's grades.

Classroom Behavior

In this classroom, we are a community that treats each other, our supplies, and our school with respect and kindness.  I expect my fourth graders to serve as good examples for their school and to achieve great things!

At the beginning of the year, we will work together to create a list of expectations that we have for ourselves and others during this school year.  It will hang on the wall all year to serve as a reminder of what our expectations are.

Each week, we will set a class goal as part of our morning meeting.  This will be based on something that I or the students have noticed that we need to work on in order to meet expectations.
