I have a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts Education from Purdue University. I aspire to be an extraordinary teacher, arts advocate, and life-long learner! This is my fifth year teaching and I love encouraging creativity in the little artists that enter the Campbell Studio doors!
In the Campbell Studio, your little artist(s) will explore a variety of media and learn about some of the famed artists of the past and present! We will experiment with and hone our skills in drawing (pencils, crayons, markers, chalk pastels, oil pastels), cutting and gluing, sculpting (with paper, model magic, clay), painting (watercolor, tempera, tempera cakes), printmaking, and weaving. We often make a mess, but we always have fun, keep it safe, and learn while we create!
I do suggest keeping your little artist(s)' "art day" of the week in mind as they choose what outfit to wear in the mornings- we do our best here in the studio, but sometimes we end up wearing our art! And sometimes, that art likes to stick around on our clothes...no matter how hard Mrs. C tries to use washable materials...you should see me after teaching clay or painting all day long!
In my personal art makerin', I most enjoy drawing with pens and markers, embroidery, painting, and collage (cutting and gluing to make something new). I recently invested in a drawing tablet and am getting into digital art!
