Welcome to Mrs. Boyd's Home Page!

The 4/5 High Ability Class is a great place to learn.  We are a combined class of 4th and 5th graders from Mayflower Mill and Mintonye Elementaries.  Students who are accepted into the class as 4th graders will continue to be in this class as 5th graders.  Students in the 4/5 class are tested at the end of each school year for math placement.  We offer 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade math classes for our students.  We use a two-year cycle for our curriculum.

Curriculum Year 1 (2023-2024 school year)

We study giftedness, economics and entrepreneurship, the 1918 Influenza Pandemic, US National Parks, and Latin roots.

Curriculum Year 2 (2024-2025 school year)

We study economics and entrepreneurship, the brain, the moon, explorers, electricity, the American Revolution, and Latin roots.
