Parent contact.
Please check your child's black folder daily. They will color their calendar to show behavior for the day. Green means all rules and procedures were followed. Red means I will contact you through a note or phone call. Also, homework, notes from me, and graded work will be in your child's black folder.
I use Dojo Points/or tickets as a token economy in my classroom. (I change between the two throughout the year). Students can earn points/tickets for following classroom procedures, winning classroom games, doing excellent work, helping a friend, etc. Students can be fined points also. Students trade these points/tickets in for items and experiences within our classroom.
Each night your child will bring home spelling words, math facts to practice, and a book to read for 20 minutes. Students should plan to spend about 30 minutes on these homework activities. Not completing homework could cause grades to be lower, since all of these activities prepare students for in class assessments. You can find your child's homework in his/her black folder each night.
