My passion for working with individuals with special needs started at a young age. Once old enough to drive I began volunteering with an adapted horse back riding program. I began babysitting an individual with special needs shortly after that. It was through that experience that I decided to pursue special education.

I went to Ball State University and graduated with a degree in severe special education. During breaks I worked for a Lafayette based organization as a respite care provider and was able to see the value in working closely with families to meet the needs of my clients. 

After graduation I was a classroom para in a couple different essential skills classroom before teaching my own classroom. Working with very experienced teachers helped me take what I had learned in college and combine it with real classroom experiences. 

I began my teaching career in 2016 at Mintonye Elementary where I taught for 3 years. In 2019 my classroom was moved to Woodland Elementary where I have taught ever since.
