Each student is evaluated and given grades based on their academic performance. Other factors that could play a role in your child's grades may be participation, neatness of work, effort, and responsibility.

Grades are not weighted in any subject, however, tests/quizzes and projects are typically worth significantly more points than regular class assignments. Some assignments may also be graded for completion/participation. This will be indicated.

Here is the grading scale that will be used:

90 - 100% = A

80 - 89% = B

70 - 79% = C

60 - 69% = D

Below 59% = F

Grades are based on student performance on the Indiana State Standards for 4th grade.

Graded subject areas are Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Health. These are graded based on in-class assignments, homework, projects, and assessments. This is so we can see each child's progress individually.
