Our classroom will have a mini economy! Each semester, students will apply for a classroom job. Once chosen for a job, students will be trained how to execute the job and will make a weekly salary. Students who cannot be trusted to complete jobs in a respectful and considerate way (i.e: bullying others while doing their job) will get fired.
Students can also earn money by turning in their daily homework and earning Dojo points. Students can lose money and accumulate fines by turning in work without their names, buying new classroom materials, and misbehavior.
Every so often, I will open a mini shop for students to spend their money. I will also open a bigger shop throughout the year for bigger purchases.
Student money is monitored through a website called ClassBank.
