Grading Policy
Reading and Literature: The grade you see under Literature will include all Reading related assignments, including: fiction, nonfiction, vocabulary, and Foundations.
Language Arts: The grade you see under Writing will include grades for the following types of assignments: writing, speaking and listening skills.
Mathematics: The grade you see under Mathematics will include grades for all Math related assignments and skills.
Social Studies: The grade you see under Social Studies will include grades for all Social Studies skills.
Science: The grade for Science will include grades for all Science related assignments and projects.
Health & Computer Science: Students will cover content in these two areas. Most of computer science will come from the understanding of everyday technology and their application on independent tasks. This is rated on a 1-4 scale as determined by the classroom teacher (& Tech teacher for computer science). Health is also rated on a 1-4 scale, mostly based on healthy lifestyles and hygiene.
Grading: Many grades will be taken in the form of Friday assessments. I will also take grades on work produced throughout the week. All grades will be taken as a percentage based on the number of problems and correct answers.
Grading Scale:
90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 C
60-69 D
REDO: Students are allowed to redo work once with a parent signature showing on corrected assignment.
4th 9 weeks: The last nine weeks the students will be checking their Powerschool daily and should be writing down their missing assignments in their agendas. The assignments are due on Friday of the week. There will be a 10% taken off the grade for each week the assignment is late. I will not be giving them multiple reminders and if it is not turned in it will show as a zero at the end of the nine weeks.
Discipline: I believe the best way to get results is with positive reinforcement. Students will be rewarded for doing the right thing, following directions, and reaching goals.

Disobeying
Lying/Cheating
Arguing with an adult
