Hi Garden Families!
My name is Mrs. Brown, and I am so excited to be your child's first-grade teacher this year! Some of you may remember me from last year, and I am thrilled to be back for another wonderful year in the Garden.
I am originally from Beavercreek, Ohio, and graduated from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Teaching has always been my dream job! My mom is a second grade teacher in Ohio, and she was actually my own second-grade teacher. That special experience inspired my love for learning and helped shape my passion for becoming a teacher myself.
My husband and I have been living in West Lafayette for a little over a year, and we have loved becoming part of this wonderful community. We also have an energetic orange cat named Teddy, who loves to cuddle, play, and keep us laughing. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, baking, shopping, and spending time with my family and friends.
I believe every child deserves a classroom where they feel safe, valued, encouraged, and loved. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students are excited to learn, willing to take risks, and confident in being themselves. I can't wait to watch your child grow academically, socially, and emotionally this year while building a classroom family filled with kindness, curiosity, and fun.
I am so excited to partner with you this year and look forward to getting to know your family. It's going to be a wonderful year in the Garden!
