Fifth graders are expected to read 20 minutes each night in a book of their choosing. Research has shown that daily independent reading to be one of the most important factors in predicting student success in school. Please encourage your child to read daily, and ask questions about what he/she is reading.
Students may also have spelling words to practice on their own. We will test every week on Fridays.
Students may not receive much homework, but they may bring work home they did not finish in class, typically math or social studies.
Corrections: Students may correct all graded work, including tests and quizzes. (The exception is spelling tests) They will get the average grade of the first and second score. They may only correct an assignment one.
