Grading Policy

90-100% = A

80-89% = B

70-79% = C

60-69% = D

Below 60% = F

Grades will be offered on the report card in the following ways:

Reading and Literature

A grade will be offered in literature each nine weeks. This grade will consist of Foundations (phonics, Fluency), Literature, Non-Fiction, and Vocabulary subcategories.

Language Arts

A grade will be offered in Language Arts each nine weeks. This grade will consist of writing (handwriting, grammar, spelling).

Math

A grade will be offered in math each nine weeks. This grade could consist of number sense, computation, algebraic thinking, measurement/data analysis & statistics and geometry.

** Grades given by the special education teacher are not representative of grade level expectations, but are based on individual needs and ability with following grade level standards.

Some Special Education students will receive grades from the Resource Room, some will have a combined grade from the General Ed. Classroom and the Resource Room, and others will receive grades only from the General Ed. Classroom. These decisions will be made at your child’s annual case conference. Please see your child’s IEP for that information. If your child does have combined grades you will only be able to see the grades they received from the general education teacher on Power School. If you would like to know how your child is doing in the Resource Room please do not hesitate to ask.
