Homework is assigned to reinforce the skills and concepts taught in class while helping students develop responsibility and effective study habits.
Students should expect the following weekly homework:
Reading: Read at least 30 minutes each evening. Daily reading is one of the most important ways to build reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and a lifelong love of reading. Students should also work toward meeting their quarterly Accelerated Reader (AR) goal.
Mathematics: Practice assignments that reinforce the skills taught in class.
Grammar: Weekly grammar practice to strengthen language and writing skills.
Science: Assignments may include reading, review activities, projects, or studying for upcoming assessments.
Social Studies: Assignments may include reading, vocabulary, map skills, projects, or studying for quizzes and tests.
Homework is designed to support classroom learning and should be completed carefully and submitted on time. Families are encouraged to establish a consistent homework routine each evening. If a student has difficulty completing an assignment independently, please encourage them to do their best and contact the teacher with any questions.
