Pilot Teaching within the DigEco project

Since September 15, 2021 within the DigEco project, teachers participating in the working group from TSATU have been giving a series of public lectures to test scientific and methodological materials developed to ensure the disciplines provided by the DigEco project.

Olena Titova,  Doctor of Education, Associate Professor, Food Process Engineering Department, Vice-rector for International Relations, gave Design thinking approach: principles and process public lecture for Agricultural Engineering students on September 15, 2021. The aim was to present the results of methodical work on the project, to assess the prospects of spreading the course in other specialties of TSATU, analysis of feedback and recommendations from students and teachers. The presented material aroused considerable interest among students and teachers. It was decided to recommend the inclusion of the course in the curricula of the "Agroengineering", "Applied Mechanics" and "Industrial Engineering" specialties. The lecture received positive feedback:

"I would describe the material as advanced, interesting and necessary for the development of engineering students creative potential" - A. Panchenko, DEng, Professor, Head of Mechatronic Systems and Transport Technologies Department.

"Very interesting. The Customer-oriented Design approach aroused special attention and desire to think it out" - A. Dioba, student of 41 AI.

J.S. Sokol, Ph.D. in Economics, Associate Professor of Marketing Department on September 16, 2021 held a course presentation "Digital Marketing in action" for undergraduate students of the specialty "Marketing" and "Accounting and Taxation". The aim was to present the main topics of the course, to familiarize students with innovative technologies in the field of digital economy, which will be studied. Students showed interest in the software that will be used in the learning process. The presentation of the discipline received positive feedback:


" Development of technology and the competitive struggle for the customer brings digital marketing to a new level. Companies that apply digital marketing tools and use the latest promotion methods in the digital space are pioneers in profitable advertising niches. The competences mastered by the candidate in this discipline are necessary for a successful in-demand marketer," - T.V. Kulish, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor of Marketing Department.


"I look forward to studying the course" Digital Marketing in Action ", because if a manager knows how to configure and collect data from analytics systems, work with digital tools such as: Google Tag Manager, Data Studio, Google Optimize and design end-to-end analytics, such a specialist will be able to make decisions about marketing effectiveness and find growth areas for business ", - Plasetsky V. the student of group number 11 Marketing. 


September 17, 2021 under the project DigEco associate professor Shkvira N.A. held a meeting with undergraduates of the specialty "Marketing", where there was a presentation of the elective discipline "Data Analytics in Marketing. Students had the opportunity to hear about the content of the discipline, the main advantages of mastering the subject and the importance of its study specifically for this specialty. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for in-depth study of innovative technologies in marketing with software application of modern digital marketing analysis approaches as a condition for training highly qualified marketing professionals. Students left positive feedback and noted the relevance of the presented discipline.


Konovalenko A.S., Ph.D., Associate Professor of Marketing Department on September 15 and 20, 2021 held a series of presentations on the course for applicants for higher education and a practical session on the course "Design Thinking" for undergraduates in "Marketing" and "Entrepreneurship". The aim was to get acquainted with the technology of consumer behavior research based on the human-centeredness principle and the application of interactive tools to create an empathy map based on the research results. Positive feedback on the results of the practical work was received:


"The creation of innovative products and services requires modern specialists to update their approaches and to think creatively. At the same time, the use of information technology contributes to the effectiveness of the research process of consumer expectations. The study of this discipline will contribute to the formation of competencies that will allow modern business to modernize existing approaches and introduce into practice new generation ideas and new product technologies" - Legeza D.G., Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Marketing Department.


"Already from the first classes in the discipline "Design Thinking" I was interested in the possibilities of applying creative approaches to creating new products. I am very interested in mastering this course, I am looking forward to the next classes", - Krayeva A. the student of group number 11 Marketing.


The next step in their work was carried out by the participants of the international project "Digitalization of the economy as an element of sustainable development of Ukraine and Tajikistan (DigEco) 618270-EPP-1-2020-1-LT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP from the Finance, Accounting and Taxation Department.

On September, 23rd, on the initiative of the working group representatives Demchuk O.N., Trachev D.M. and Sokol A.G., the meeting with the student body of the 4th and 1st year of Masters specialties Accounting and Taxation and Finance, Banking and Insurance was held, where the pilot disciplines were presented, will be taught in the second semester of the 2021 \ 2022 academic year.

Oleg Sokol told about the implementation of the project in TSATU, about new opportunities for students and teachers in the implementation of new disciplines in the master's program and the prospects for academic mobility, introduced domestic and foreign partners of the consortium, noted the purpose of the project, the duration of the grant program and activities provided for in the implementation.

Daria Trachova drew attention to the unique chance to look "live" at the process of implementing the digitization principles abroad, to get acquainted with its features, and the discussion between the project participants should inevitably lead to effective improvements in economic education. Darya Trachova also noted the importance and value of this program for the department and the faculty, and encouraged both teachers and students to actively participate in all stages of the DigECO project.

Olena Demchuk provided information about the project financing, the purchase of modern computer equipment and computer software, cooperation and interaction between the participants in the program "Digitization of economy as an element of sustainable development of Ukraine and Tajikistan (DigEco)" in the direction of professional development of students and teachers in universities of partner countries.

As part of the meeting, lecturers of the department presented the pilot disciplines, which will be taught to undergraduate students of the 1st year of study:Oleg Sokol highlighted the main tasks and courses implementation areas in the disciplines Big data analytics and business intelligence, the teaching purpose of which is to investigate the effective solution of business problems, using operational data to create data warehouses, applying data mining tools and analytics to gain new insights about the operations of the organization and Fintech in banking, insurance and asset management, in the study of which applicants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the key aspects of the Fintech paradigm and practice. Beginning with theory and concepts, students will be taught current developments in the field and how they can integrate paradigms into practice and how practice defines paradigms.

Daria Trachova told about the introduction of new disciplines: Blockchain, Innovation management - the aim of which is to form a holistic view of the blockchain technology essence and advantages of its use in information systems and Disruptive technology and Digital Performance in Business - to ensure students understanding of basic concepts, categories, systems and algorithms of ERP systems in various industries, mastering tools that enable production planning, modeling order flow and assessing the possibility of their implementation in services and subsystems.

Elena Demchuk presented the program of Big Data Analytics in Finance discipline, told about formation of the modern system of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the big data analysis in finance to make effective managerial decisions; increase of the company efficiency; optimization of its competitiveness; risk mitigation.
