Rio Linda FFA was officially chartered on September 28th, 2010, by Dr. Crystal Grooms. The program began with just two courses—Ag Biology and Ag Earth Science—but quickly grew as more students became involved in FFA leadership, activities, and opportunities. Our first Chapter and Greenhand Officer teams helped build the foundation of the chapter and inspired others to join.
In 2011, Rio Linda FFA gained a chapter barn, giving students the ability to fully participate in the three-circle model of agricultural education through classroom instruction, FFA involvement, and hands-on SAE projects. This was a major step forward for our chapter and allowed students to take their learning beyond the classroom.
In 2013, Rio Linda FFA was honored to be recognized as a Hall of Chapter, highlighting the dedication and success of our members and program.
Over the years, Rio Linda FFA has continued to grow, change, and improve in many ways. Our chapter has made a lasting impact on students by helping them build leadership skills, confidence, responsibility, and career readiness. Most importantly, Rio Linda FFA has helped change the lives of many students by giving them a place to belong and opportunities to succeed.
