Grant Union High School's Army JROTC Pacer Battalion emphasizes core values that align with both U.S. Army standards and our school's policies. This code is divided into sections covering general conduct, academic and school-related responsibilities, JROTC-specific duties, and personal behavior.
Cadets of the Pacer Battalion will act with integrity, respect, and professionalism at all times. They will be role models for other students, both in and out of uniform. Cadets will:
Follow all school rules and the instructions of school staff and JROTC cadre.
Not engage in profanity, harassment, or bullying, and understand that any form of discrimination is strictly prohibited.
Demonstrate proper respect for the U.S. flag, the national anthem, and military customs and courtesies.
Academic and School-Related Responsibilities
Academics are our primary focus. Cadets will:
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 to remain in good standing with the battalion.
Be on time for all classes, complete all assignments, and strive for academic excellence.
Not engage in Cheating or plagiarism, and understand that any other forms of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated.
Always act as positive ambassadors for the JROTC program within the school.
In uniform, cadets represent the U.S. Army and the Grant Union High School Pacer Battalion. Cadets will :
Wear their uniform correctly and with pride on designated days.
Assure their Uniforms are clean, pressed, and in good repair.
Be responsible for their assigned uniforms and equipment and will return it in good condition.
Be punctual for all JROTC formations, classes, and mandatory events.
Uphold the Army values of LDRSHIP (Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage).
Our cadets' personal conduct reflects on the entire battalion. Cadets will not:
Lie, Cheat, or Steal... nor tolerate those that do.
Engage in illegal activities; including the use of illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products.
Engage in inappropriate relationships, public displays of affection, and any behavior that compromises the reputation of the JROTC program or undermines good order and discipline.
Cadets are encouraged to maintain a healthy lifestyle and a positive attitude. They should strive to be leaders in their community, demonstrating good citizenship and a commitment to service. Repetitive violations of the code of conduct will result in disciplinary actions, which may include a lowered grade, reductions in rank, removal from leadership positions, a failed grades and/or removal from the JROTC program.
